According to German superstition, if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on Feb. 2 — the Christian holiday of Candlemas — winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow is seen, legend says, spring will come early.
Since 1887, Phil has seen his shadow 97 times, hasn't seen it 15 times, and there are no records for nine years, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club."
So...winter is here to stay for awhile longer.
Let's see what have I been up to today? I waited forever for the Drs. office to call me back so I could go in and talk with the Dr. about my cholesterol results...only to find out he is still in Iraq and will be for another 4 weeks. I have to say, I am a tad bit up tight about this cholesterol thing...it scares me, given the results of my family...but I shall wait until the 27th to see my Dr.
In the meantime...I ate really well today...drank my water...and walked 30 minutes on my treadmill.
I spent quite a bit of the day creating a couple of sample "tickets" for my daughter's prom. She is in charge of tickets and the kids put her in charge so that I could create "scrapbooked" tickets. I made two samples...she came home, wasn't quite as thrilled as I hoped...and now I have created two more that we both love. Let's see what the committee thinks tomorrow. I will show you the samples after they see them.
Many of you will not understand my picture for today...but here it is:
The white cat is JAZZ...she is our she-cat and she is very unsociable. She does not like the other two kitties (they invaded her territory 2 years ago) and growls at them constantly and they taunt her. She hides under beds all day long...and has been known to pee wherever she feels like it in the winter cuz she doesn't like sharing the litter boxes, and it's too cold to go out. She ONLY likes Scott...and she bites him! And tonight, Lauren called me down to her bedroom...and in amazement we looked on as these two slept side by side...touching...and seemed very content. Maybe there is HOPE! This is "PEACE" for sure:)
I have finished another purse today too...here is the before:
Will I ever get tired of the MAGIC of after???:
Now...this was after only one washing...so it is back in the washer, as if you look closely you can still see ROWS...and the felting will make that go away even more.
So I leave you with this tonight... HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAREN!!!! (today is her REAL birthday:)
Goodnight all...
